Xander walked to the lunch lady. Sure enough it was mystery meat day. He smiled on the outside, barfing on the inside, as she labelled the globs of meat onto the plate, it landed with a sick sounding plop and looked oddly like something other than food. He tried to keep his happy smile, at least the soda machine worked today so he could have something to get the taste of nutrition out of his mouth. He paid for his food and stepped over to the drink machine. He put his money in and got a coke. He put it on his tray and stood waiting for Willow and Buffy. He looked around, only one table… and it had 6 seats… and there were six people in the line, one being Cordy, one being a new girl, 2 being his besties and one being the cone of silence man.
“Looks like we’re sharing a table… well except Cordy who’ll be hovering above us with her head doing a 180 screaming stuff in Latin”
He couldn’t resist that dig, it was hanging out there all pink and naked just begging to be yelled out. He somehow manged to open his can of soda and was about to take a sip when another person joined the line, he didn’t know who they were or even if they had a name but there was only one table left and he wasn’t about to give it up.
“I’ll go save the table, meet ya’ll over there”
He walked back, cursing himself for using the word ‘ya’ll’. Who said that apart from hillbillies and hippies? He headed for the table, dodging food flying and a skateboard that had been left on the floor. He got there and put his food on the table, he threw his hands up in the air in a rocky motion… then instantly sat down and wished he wasn’t the captain of the nerd squad. He looked back and smiled as Buffy Willow and friends (And Cordelia) walked over.

Cordelia walked into the lunchroom. She was already late to lunch, because the guidance counselor wanted to talk to her about "her negative attitude to others"! Come on, I try to be positive about everyone's failure and faux paux's . Is it my fault that I try to get people to see the err of their ways. I am more like a modern good samaritan. Cordelia thought as she enter the cafeteria. Her eyes scanned the room for where to sit, and saw that there was only one table left. She tried to hope beyond hope that another table would just clear out and she wouldn't have to sit at the geek table. The lunch lady loaded Cordelia's plate up with what would never be considered actual food, anywhere other than a high school cafeteria. She came to the end of the line and realized that no other tables were magically available as she had hoped. And who did she now see sitting at that very table, Xander Harris! She approached the table.
"Xander do you plan these things out just to be close to be? If you were a gentlemen you would get up and eat against the wall?
Cordelia noticed the others that were headed to the same table. There was the freakshow ringleader Buffy, the fashionably challenged Willow, one of the guys from Devon's band, and some girl she didn't but had a fashion sense Cordelia didn't see much of in Sunnydale. Cordelia thought she might have found a new friend.
"Hey, I am Cordelia. I love the outfit!"
Cordelia reluctantly sat at the table and wondered what the next hour of her life would be like.

Sure, Oz knew Cordelia as she came by. He knew her quite well actually, though didn't care to say much to her. Xander had always been a bit of a loudmouth that he tended to shy away from. Buffy was new, cute, but he didn't really know what to say or anything like that around her. And then there was Willow, the one that he actually could see himself talking to, even if there wasn't a lot to say. She was sweet, innocent, and liked to ramble when things got quiet, which was undoubtedly cute and kept her from being too freaked out by his own lack of conversational skills.
He had himself a sloppy joe from the lunch lady which looked like she went and put the extra heart and care to make it extra sloppy. Oh how she must have adored him. He looked at it for a couple of seconds before leaning back in his chair and looking out towards the doors. He could probably sneak out of here and get himself a little bit of practice before heading back sometime during the next period. People here seemed to be alright with chit-chatting amongst themselves, though he didn't have himself that beautiful exiting line that he was so hoping for, to make it all dramatic and fun like the movies.
He was wedged between Willow and Buffy it seemed as he simply looked up towards the 'Queen' of the school. There would likely be some witty retorts from Xander towards her, and her back to him as they sat there and looked on. He looked towards the blonde beside him, shrugged a bit before looking over towards Willow.
"When did they get married?"
He muttered, though likely loud enough to be heard by everyone. Oh no, Oz with the quick embarrassing dialog? For shame.

Alright so yes, once she had gone through the lunch line, Alexia was really glad she had decided to forgo getting anything but the cookie she held in her hand. How did these people eat that rot and not die of food poisoning was beyond her. She would defiantly be brown bagging it from now on. Making her own lunch if Mum was too busy. Alexia had gotten a coke from the machine and was still standing around looking for a place to sit. Just her luck there appeared to be only one table with any room at all left for her to sit. Was it some kind of weird anomaly that just about every supernatural she had seen so far at this school, just happened to be sitting at the same table? Already there was the powerful, blond girl from the library, the witch, and the werewolf. Alexia actually wanted to talk to the witch, to see if the feelings she had gotten from her were right. Perhaps this would be her chance to get to know her?
Alexia sighed as she made her way though the crowded lunch room towards the table. She got there just as the well dressed girl she had seen leaving her history class, was insulting the lad sitting next to the witch. Alexia looked at her and arched her eyebrow. She had never liked this girl’s type much, the ones that were bitchy and rude just because they could be, or thought they were above everyone else. Alexia was pretty tempted to make some kind of rude commit back to her, though bit her lip. She was here to make friends, not push people away. At least not at this point in time. So all Alexia did was kind of smile at the guy, not that he was looking at her at this point to notice. Though she had to give a little laugh when the werewolf asked about the dark haired guy and the socialite being married. She gave him a smile, as she moved closer to the table.
Then the bitchy girl turned to her, and like Alexia had expected committed on her outfit. Yeah Alexia knew her kind well, this girl would be impressed with her sense of style. It was too early in the game to make enemies so Alexia smiled Cordelia, yes even her name fit her. Alexia knew her type well, from L.A., pretty and was impressed with only money, and social position. “Thank ye Cordelia, Mum got it for me to make up for pullin meh away from L.A. I’m Alexia pleased to meet ya.” Alexia almost cringed a bit when her accent came out a bit strong. She must be more nervous than she thought, usually she only had a light accent, unless excited or nervous.
She bit her lip, something both she and her older sister did when nervous, and looked at the others already sitting at the table. “ I hope you don’t mind if I take one of these seats.? “ She said not waiting for an answer, and sitting in one of the free seats. “ So ye may of heard, I’m Alexia. I new here so have ta ask, do they daily try ta kill the students with what they call food here?” She said as she opened her coke and took a sip.

Xander wished that the earth would open up and swallow Cordelia whole, it would make all their lives so much easier and way less stressful. He was so tempted to put a death foot grip on the chair so he didn’t get any Cordy hatred on him.
“And if you were a lady the world would implode”
He thought his slightly mumbled comeback was pretty adman good, of course he was probably alone on that. He cricked his neck and picked up his fork full of food. It looked so not edible in the extreme but he had to eat at some point. He picked up the little plastic crappy spork that some stoned moron must have designed and scooped some of the meat mix onto it. He put it in his mouth, it didn’t need to be chewed it just sort of slid down. He looked art the new girl who Cordy was obviously trying to recruit to a life of shoes and shopping and stupidness. He liked her name, ‘Alexia… sounds fancy’ he thought in a slightly hormone driven state. He smiled at her and nodded, a light laugh in his voice
“Well they try, but they really suck at it. Heck look at Cordy, if they can’t kill her and she’s roughly half human than we’re gonna be fine”
There was no way he was going to resist a dig at Cordelia’s expense, even though it might make him look like a bit of a butthead in front of Alexia. He tried to scoop another spork full of food but it just fell of the utensil. He opened his can of soda and took a sip to try and wash the taste of cafeteria food out of his mouth. He got most of it but there was some leftover flavour sticking about like a stubborn jerk. He put his can down and looked at Alexia
“So you’re the newbie, well spill the life story, and details if possible”
He knew he had to try and be nicer to Alexia than Cordelia tried to be, get her to resist the evil bitchy cheerleader side and go straight for the OK nerdish types.

*Buffy’s ears pricked up as she heard the new chick mention leaving L.A. Oh, how she missed L.A… with all her friends, and the shopping, and the malls, and the shopping.. and the boys.. and the cheerleading..and the shopping. Buffy sighed. It was a different time, one that was so long ago.
She rolled her eyes as Xander and Cordelia traded insults while she nibbled on her salad, the only thing that had looked half decent on the conveyer belt of what passed as the Sunnydale High Cafeteria. Chuckling softly as Oz asked when Xander and Cordelia had got married, she muttered under her breath
~God knows.. but I hope they get divorced soon.. for all our sakes..~
Still, she remained quiet. Her attention diverted to the strange guy she had met last night. He had been lurking in the shadows, following her.. and although she sensed a vampire out in the night with her, all she had seen was him. And he certainly didn’t look or act like any vampire she had ever known. Sighing, Buffy went back to her salad.
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^
Willow tried to keep telling herself to be calm. Yes, she was sitting next to Oz. So what? Yes, he was cute.. and he was a boy. So what? Forcing herself not to blush, or tremble or babble was very, very hard for her, but she managed to focus on the disgusting Sloppy Joe in front of her.
Taking a bite, she forced it down, grimacing as she wiped her mouth with her napkin. Looking at Oz’s plate, and trying to ignore the way that his hands looked as they carried food to his gorgeous mouth, or the way that his lips moved while he chewed, Willow counted to five slowly in her head before she asked casually
~So, you fell for their evil plan and got the Sloppy Joe too eh? I think they plan to kill us with it, one disgusting bite at a time..~
She looked over at Xander, trying to ignore the stabbing pain in her heart as Oz asked when had he and Cordelia got married. It was true that they argued like an old married couple, but Willow doubted that their intentions towards each other were anything even remotely romantic. She was… sure of it. Wasn’t she?
~Uh, I think its illegal for President of the We hate Cordelia Club to marry her.. its in the bylaws or something..~ she mumbled.
Glancing down at Buffy, surprised by how quiet she was, Willow realised that she would have to carry whatever type of conversation was happening on this side of the table. She smiled at the new girl, and offered her a slight wave.
~I’m Willow.~ she said by way of greeting, but there she fell flat. What else could she say realy? Besides, it was taking all of her energy to focus on what to say to Oz. If she moved her leg just slightly, it would be touching his. She wondered if he would notice. Acting as if she was reaching down to scratch her leg, Willow’s arm brushed against his, causing her to blush as she moved her leg slightly over so that it was now touching his under the table. Bringing her arm back up, she chewed on her bottom lip before she brought another disgusting bite to her mouth. Oh she was bad! So bad! Biting down on a giggle before it escaped her lips, Willow busied herself with eating for a while as her leg continued to touch his. If he had noticed, he hadn’t let on, or at least, he hadn’t moved away. Empowered by this development, she swallowed her bite and wiped her mouth before she turned to him.
~So, Oz.. are you playing at the Bronze tonight? Cause.. we might be going there.. tonight.. to the Bronze. Uh.. Right Xand? Buffy? ~ Remembering the new girl, Willow grinned at her. ~You should come to the Bronze! It’s the place to be .. and its got music… uh..~ she smiled shyly back at Oz. ~ Good music.. ~ *

Giles had entered the cafeteria much to his own dismay. He tried to move quickly so the smell of the food would not get to him. Though, being stopped by certain students didn't help him any. Finally getting through, he spotted Buffy. Ah. He moved quickly over to her and her friends; smiling. "Afternoon, all." He cleared his throat, trying to get to the point quickly so he could make his escape. "If you're all not busy after school, I'd like to...uh..." He noticed some stopping looking at him oddly as he spoke to Buffy and her gang. "...The, uh, science projects we've been working on..."
He looked to Buffy. "And we could work on our project, to keep your...sen--er--scholastics sharp, yes." He smiled inwardly, proud of himself for the save. He looked at the sloppy joes, and cringed. He looked back to Buffy, nodding. "If you all aren't planning on going to a gig later on?" He looked to each of them, before his eyes going back to Buffy. "After all, it is a school night...er...not that it's stopped you before, but we all want good grades."
