As he found himself in the stacks, placing books in their home. He had made a list early of books that had yet to be returned. He hated overdue books, but these kids didn't seem to care. He would have to speak to Principal about the charges, and maybe some detention time for them. As he finished his duty, the bell for first lunch.
He sighed, going to his office. He despised cafeteria food, so he packed his own lunch. A sandwich, until he retrieved a microwave to warm up other dishes. He sat down, having already fixed his tea earlier. He grabbed his cup, sipping, and began to eat his cucumber sandwich. He smiled, the taste reminding him of his grandmother, fixing these for lunch, or maybe a tea. He loved his quite for he knew it wouldn't be too long before Buffy and her friends would invade his quiet time.

*Buffy whistled as she skipped down the hallway. Next class was Science, which she detested with an absolute passion. It was almost as bad as Math. Okay, so it was actually worse than Math, but there were some cute guys in her Math class that made the time there a little bit more bearable. Skipping past the Science class, Buffy was tempted to blow a raspberry at the door, but contained herself enough to just grin as she kept on skipping down the hall.
The hallway was quickly emptying of kids on their way to class, and Buffy slowed down her pace so that she didn’t seem too suspicious. She didn’t exactly have permission to be playing hooky, but she knew that if by some chance she did get busted in the library, she could quickly come up with a believable excuse as to why she was there.
Slowing down to a quick walk, Buffy rolled her shoulders and stretched her arms above her head. She was itching to train, and couldn’t wait to start pummelling something. Pushing open the library doors, she caught Giles mid bite.
~Let me guess.. Cucumber sandwiches? Oh.. and a cup of tea as well… realy Giles, if people didn’t know you were British, they could soon figure it out..~
She jumped up onto the bench that served as the main area where people borrowed and returned their books, her legs hanging over the edge.
~Don’t stop eating on my account…I’ll just.. sit here…~ she yawned pointedly and began to kick her feet against the wood below the bench, making a hollow knocking sound.

As he took another bite, Buffy entered. He started to speak, but chewed the bite and swallowed; followed by a drink of tea. He smirked as she spoke, shaking his head. Setting the sandwich down, he smiled softly. "I can't help it, the cafeteria food isn't exactly my idea of a good lunch. Really, where do you all come up with these things? Sloppy Joes? Mystery Meat Surprise?" His stomach churned at the thought of the meat. "...I...I mean the texture let alone the colour..." He shook his head, forcing the thoughts from his head.
She seemed to be dilly-dallying, and he thought of her schedule. Ah. Science. "Don't you have a class to be getting to, Buffy? I don't want to be assumed for encouraging your playing hooky..." He gave her a good long stern look, clucking his tongue. He quickly finished his lunch, taking another lone sip of tea. He dabbed his mouth his a napkin, throwing items away.
As her feet knocked against the wood, the more he heard it, the more annoying it became. His eyes went to her, then to her feet, then to her again. Wincing, he removed his glasses, and began to clean them with an irritated sigh. Teenagers.

*Buffy shrugged her shoulders as she continued to swing her feet, banging on the desk beneath her.
~ Beats me.. I just thought the school likes to think of these things to gross us out. And besides.. considering it’s the Hellmouth and all, who’s to say what exactly IS in the mystery meat? I mean, a lot of kids do go missing around here ya know?!~ She grinned at him as he mentioned her playing hooky.
~Oh come on Giles! Its SCIENCE.. enough said. Besides.. I’m feeling rusty.. need to punch something, and kick.. kicking is good..~ *

As the mention of the meat might be in fact people, he winced lightly, shaking his head. That was a bad thought, bad enough it came from a Charlton Heston movie, but that it might be real? Oh, dear lord! As she whined about science, he placed glasses back on his nose, and shook his head. "Science is as much as important as anything you'll use..." He stopped, looking at her. ...Well, maybe not for her, especially.... "I'm not going to win this argument, am I?"
Of course not, Buffy would...do something irritating until he gave in. To save from anything she would do, he buckled. "...Oh, alright, yes, fine." He disappeared into his office, bringing out the large mits which her placed on his hand. He looked at her, sighing. If any one would inquire about her playing hooky, he would vouch for her. "Come on, then, hop to it. Simple excercise's and next period is free for you? We'll go onto simple calestenics....just, please, none of that dreadful noise you call music..."
